True Nukes


Adds realistic nuclear blasts, and more nuclear options, including various scales of atomic artillery shell, as well as atomic cannon shells. Also adds thermobaric weapons (these are like fuel air bombs), which act as early game nukes. Simulates the blast wave, thermal impact, crater and fireball of nuclear weapons.

i Space Age/2.0 Compatibility

Hi! This is one of my favourite mods in all of Factorio and I was wondering whether you have any plans for adding Space Age/2.0 compatibility in the near future. This is mainly because I really want to try out Space Age but I know I will dearly miss your mod, and I am on the fence, wondering if I should wait for the update. Any response will be greatly appreciated (and again thanks for the wonderful mod)!

Hi, yes I am absolutely planning to, but it might take a bit as there are a few interactions I need to sort out, and I want to balance it a bit. I don't really have any kind of ETA on this, so it's up to you...

Same as the others, one of my most favorite mods, i don't use many, especially if they're adding new items and are beyond some qol stuff, but this mod adds the powerful feeling late game weapons.

I really love and miss this mod, especially now with the Space Age DLC this is the best fit for killing demolishers on Vulcanus and purging Gleba of everything Gleba.

Aaah, I'm really sorry for this, but life has gotten really busy, and I'm not feeling all that inspired to work on the mod.
I'm sure I'll get back to it at some point, but I've not really had the time or motivation to make any progress...

And if anyone wants to use the True Nukes code to patch something together for 2.0, feel free to take a shot (it's all MIT licensed anyway).
I'll try and get it done as soon as I can, but trying to push myself to do it doesn't really help.

I'm still looking forward to an update whenever it may come, this is the best nukes mod that i've found but stopgapnukes will have to do for now.

I love this mod and I understand life happens, but I did have a question:

How did/do you plan to implement the fire shield in 2.0? I had an idea for a mod of fire shields and tesla coils and grid based ballistic plating with spoil times but IDK if it's possible to give equipment resistances

I'm making do with the above but I miss the nuclear testing

I might try to reuse some of the code for the larger explosions and put them in my Stopgap Nukes mod. I've been struggling to find a way to efficiently do multi-megaton explosions and larger without lagging for minutes and consuming gobs and gobs of ram.

I´m eagerly awaiting the next update, always played with true nukes in my modded runs after I discovered it, take your time, we´ll be there once the devastation returns to our souls

Hi, sorry, it's been a while, and I've not really been playing Factorio much recently. Sorry for the lack of updates, and while I do intend to do the update, I've not really spent any time getting it up and running.
@Xeraster Do feel free to reuse the explosion code best you can - it was an absolute nightmare to get it optimal enough to be usable all the way up.
@Sassxolotl The fire shield was never very "properly" implemented - it was just added as a check in the nuke detonation code. I have no idea how to get it to work like, properly. True Nukes bypasses a lot of the "proper" ways of processing damage, for efficiency and flexibility reasons.
