sometimes trees spawn on the wrong surface, i got snow covered spruces on vulcanite planets an sparkle trees from bioluminescence in space.
it might be related to bioluminescence https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Bioluminescence but also affects the basic SE trees(which are from alien biomes i think)
