Technologies that are unlocked by crafting x items, such as Steam power (Craft 50 iron plates) and Electronics (Craft 10 copper plates), are triggered when you get that amount of items, and then enables you to craft whatever they unlocked for free.
I assume it'll be a problem for all techs that are unlocked with craft X, or mine Y.
