Do you you hate not having enough space to build? Do you like straight lines and symmetry? Are you bothered by the likes of Cliff Explosives and Foundations and such being set too far in the game's progression? Well, so was I! Introducing: Terrain Domination Tools - a set of discounts and balance shifts aimed to let us bulldoze everything into a never-ending parking lot.
This mod changes Cliff Explosives, Foundations, Landfill and Rail Supports in the following way:
Cliff Explosives:
- Cliff Explosives technology now costs 50 Automation, Logistics, Chemical and Production science. It no longer requires Metallurgic science, and is no longer tied to Vulcanis.
- Cliff Explosives technology now takes 15 seconds per cycle.
- Cliff Explosives now cost 10 Explosives, 1 Barrel and 1 Grenade - same as Vanilla. Calcite is no longer required.
Foundations:
- Foundation technology now costs 50 Automation, Logistics, Chemical, Production, Utility, Space and Metallurgic Science science. It is now tied to just Vulcanus, not to Aquilo.
- Foundation technology now takes 15 seconds per cycle.
- Foundations now cost 5 Landfill, 10 Steel Plates, 10 Refiled Concrete and 10 Plastic to construct, and produce 5 Foundations per craft. They can be built anywhere locally.
Landfill:
- Landfill costs the same as Vanilla, but the recipe produces 5 Landfill per craft. In other words - 1 unit of Landfil per 1 Foundation.
Rail Supports:
- Support Range of Rail Supports (max rail distance between two towers) is now 20 units, or 32 tiles (each unit is 2 tiles wide, both towers are 4 towers wide each). This is the same range as Large Electric Poles placed at the centre of each Rail Support tower.
- Rail Support Foundations technology now costs 50 Automation, Logistics, Chemical, Production, Utility, Space, Electromagnetic Science. It's now tied to just Fulgora, as opposed to both Fulgora and Vulcanus.
- Rail Support Foundation technology now takes 15 seconds per cycle.
Options:
- Each of the four components (Cliff Explosives, Foundations, Landfill, Rail Supports) can be toggled on and off independently. If a component is toggled off, its additional settings will have no effect.
- Cliff Explosives research can optionally be set to Vanilla requirements - meaning just Automation and Logistics science. Still 50 of each, still 15 seconds per cycle.
- The "return multiplier" for Landfill and Foundations can be set manually. This tweaks the number of items produced by both recipes, as well as the cost of Foundations in Landfill. Note that if you disable Foundations changes, this will only affect Landfill.
- The cost and time of all tweaked technologies can be set centrally. They're the same for all affected technologies.
- The support range for Rail Supports can be tweaked manually. The game doesn't like wire ranges of over 64, so I capped this at 32 to avoid jankiness. That's already a lot.
- Optionally, Rail Supports can be made buildable on Lava and Deep Ocean without the need for Foundations or the Rail Support Foundations research. These are off by default, but I figured people would ask for them, so there you go.
