This is a fork of the mod https://mods.factorio.com/mod/TrainSpeedLimit_018_Port which itself is a fork of https://mods.factorio.com/mod/TrainSpeedLimit Thus all credits go to their authors.

I changed the mod in the way that the trains now decellerate very quickly. Thus you can now place a speed limiter sign directly in front of a railway crossing and you can set a no-speed-limit-anymore sign directly behind the railway crossing. The train will nearly instantly brake down to the desired speed limit. There is no long braking time which could be deadly inside compact bases.

The mod is very easy to use. You place a speed limiter sign on the right side of a track (directly next to the track without any gap). A gui window pop ups where you select the desired max speed. Thats it.

If you want to allow the train any speed again, then you place a limit cancellation sign on the right side of the track. Thats it.

You want to it more precise? Use the button "Circuit network" instead of a standard speed limit in km/h. Now you can send the "speed limit sign" signal together with a number representing the allowed max speed. Thats it. You see: Very simple to use.
