b [DONE]Odd orange highlight behavior

Thanks for all your hard work! Figured you'd want to see this in case you hadn't already. It might just be a multiplayer artifact, I'm not sure.

Video of the bug (MP4)

I'm running at a steady 60 FPS/UPS, and multiplayer UPS is 60 as well, so it doesn't seem to be a performance issue. I can consistently reproduce a "cursor in two places, one lagging behind the other" effect whenever I mouse over the ships.

Edit: (In case it's not clear -- the left display is the standard/vanilla Wube one, and the one on the right is yours. I showed both so you could see that the lag wasn't occurring on the standard list as well.)

It happens the same way with the "Show a preview when hovering over a platform" option on or off.

My guess is that it's related to playing on a dedicated server. I recorded this earlier and didn't think to try reproducing it in single player, sorry about that!

Hi No.Springs,

thanks a lot for the video and for all the details, that made it really easy to see what’s going on, and thanks for the kind words!

You were right about the server. The orange highlight of the whole row is done by the mod: when you hover a row, the game tells the server, and the server then highlights the other parts of that row. With some ping that makes the highlight lag behind your mouse, while the vanilla list reacts instantly because that part runs on your side.

I’ve added an option to switch it off (Settings → Panel → Display: “Highlight the whole row when hovering”). With it off, only the button under the mouse lights up, instantly. I tested it on a server and it works there. It will be in the next update, which should be out in the next few days.

cheers, Amageddon
