I'd love to have a setting toggle to disable/enable the "wub wub wub" sound when the searchlight is active. It's great on scenario maps, but it gets annoying on normal maps.

The new setting has to be set during startup, you can find it labeled as "Volume for Scanning effect"

Also I noticed your own mod, Factorio After Dark, very cool! I might grab that for when expansion drops

Thanks! I've still got some extra roadmap stuff I want to add. Also as the author of this mod, maybe weigh in on your thought - popup "miss" text when shots miss - yea or nay? I was thinking it might make the mod more easily understandable for some...but could be annoying.

I like the idea! It can be frustrating for someone to play on a friend's save or grab some modpack and not immediately notice why they're seeing such little damage. Even something as simple as a floating "miss" can help spur someone to look into what the problem is and quickly notice the correlation between darkness and damage loss.

If I were doing it, I'd have the flying text appear over the enemy, so it's out of the way of whatever the player's probably doing, and rate-limit it so it only happens at most once a second (there's not a lot of information for the player to gain or lose from seeing 'miss' appear more often)

And of course, make it a setting, players love settings for mods.
