Simpler Platform Drag

Adjusts the drag force on space platforms such that only the ship's weight affects its drag force/top speed, not its shape.

g "Customizeable Platform Drag" please?

I like building big ships and tried the mod out. My ship got... slower than before??

I'd honestly rather play without weight-drag than without shape-drag, because a wider ship collects more asteroids and therefore counter-balances the more fuel used to accelerate the wider ship.

I mean okay you rebalanced it, but it doesn't do what it says on the tin. Would it be possible to add settings for:
- Actually, simply width not affecting drag force, without rebalance
- Only shape affects drag, weight doesn't
- Weight based "inertia", but not weight-drag?

I feel like that formula should be easily adjustable using settings. Also again a reminder that the mod changes the weight in tons that a platform has (the stuff calculated into the "weight" of the ship) from 0.25 tons to 0.2 tons.

It's expected that ships will be slower if they were 'aerodynamic' before.

I've updated the description from "there is no dependence on width" to "there is no direct dependence on width", thank-you for that correction.

The feedback I've received has agreed 'simpler' is a fair name for this mod. If you'd like to change it so the drag force is independent of the ship's weight, you could make a mod for that.

This mod does not change the weight of space platform foundation tiles, 0.2 tons is the correct value. We did have to make a correction for that in February, so there may be some old value on the loose somewhere. However you can verify 0.2 is correct ingame on recent versions of Factorio.

I looked again and... yea, they must have changed it. I guess playing with old 2.0.x versions does weird stuff, shoulda expected that, sorry.

And regarding making my own mod - of course I could, but you making a setting for a bit of customizeability would be easier.
No worries if you don't want to or want to keep the mod just what it is now, of course.
