i Evolution pause w/ Grace period?

I have this mod in a very challenging setup for a modpack for experienced players to feel the game is new or leveled up. Without this setting, it's extremely unbalanced for newer players/solo play. Any way that this could be added?

You can set the evolution rate when creating a map. This is not part of the mod.
The duration of the grace period can be set at the start of the game or accessed later from the player settings
