Is the incompatibility non fixable? I like what the combat overhaul mod adds, and Earendel is one of the veteran modder, what he does is always a plus to a game.

Yes, it is a strong incompatibility
Firstly, it breaks some attacks so much that their graphics are ruined and their damage is zeroed out (for example, fire spitters)
Secondly, it changes HP , which makes some Enemies too dangerous
Thirdly, since version Factorio 2.0. there have been problems with collision layers, the solution of which will take a lot of time on my part. And I do not intend to solve them while the first two problems exist

In order for me to remove the incompatibility flag, his mod should not change any parameters of my Biters, only adjusting the collision layers

OK, I understand, and thanks for taking the time to explain. I'll favor your mod, then, and have added it to my ongoing game. From what I understand, the new biters and their AI will appear only outside of what I have scanned and scouted, so this should give me some buffer, I think.
