Rampant, fixed

Based on Rampant 1.1.1 (new AI and enemies). 1. Perceptibly more dangerous. AI significantly rewritten, gameplay different. Can attack from afar. Improved search for a passage in the defense. By default, it does not populate the entire map. 2. +2 Factions. Can mutate existing nests. Mixed attacks from different factions. Can be combined with nests of other enemies

g Number of spawned biters by hive/spawner question

Does

rampantFixed--unitHiveRespawnScaler
and
rampantFixed--unitSpawnerRespawnScaler
work correctly ?

The settings seem to allow the spawning of rare (once several minuts) and numerous (50-100 biters) waves. But. Biters keep spawning in small numbers no matter what setting combinations are set.

Would it be too time possible to make it possible to generate spawns of, for exemple, 50 biters every 300 * 60 frames.
Even 100 or 200 every X minuts biters (not sure the nests can handle this, tho)

And Rempant fixed gave so many glorious moments last games.
Respect and uvazuha to the author(s)

Glad you liked it

This property works correctly. It changes the spawning_cooldown parameter of the biter hive/nests
(https://wiki.factorio.com/Prototype/EnemySpawner#spawning_cooldown)
The larger it is, the less often biters spawn from the nest to replace those killed. It doesn't affect anything else

Attacks are created from the biters in a certain area. If they do not have time to respawn due to the spawn cooldown being too long, then the attack will be formed from among those who are there. That is, it will be weaker.

In addition, this does not affect pollution attacks - they are generated using a standard algorithm from the factorio devs

If you want to get rarer attacks, then you should adjust the "AI: Action points scaling" multiplier to suit your needs

If you want the wave size to be larger than it is in the early stages of the game, you can change the setting "Attack Wave: The maximum wave size starts with the % of evolution". However, it is worth understanding that if there are few biters in the area, then fewer will come, regardless of the requested squad size. Only if there are many nests around is it possible for large groups to appear.

It is impossible to configure attacks so that they come once every N minutes, since this is influenced by too many factors.
This requires writing a separate mode (like Nocturnal Mode) or using external mod to use remote interface for creating waves
(for example: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/WildNight)

The idea behind those "controlled" waves is:
- relatively precise wave sizes
- relatively precise time between waves
= ups economy at some moments
= clearer diffculty/combat pace control (sieging the nests, recon the nests, retreat your forces, rush nests)

Why? RF lacks a little to get better than total war (xD) in terms of field battle around nests. With our settings. "Waves control" seems to be the solution =) & Xenos Oppression is built around what Rempant Fixed settings allow and K2 ammunition tweaks.

Was about to ask more questions, but, seems need more study of the insides before any further move

Diving into those Night mods =)

Thanks for the detailed reply!
