do biters tunnel under cliffs?

yes. If it will significantly shorten the path

thanks. caused a lot of confusion for the first time because i didn't get that they can tunnel under cliffs and water. but this is a really fun feature.

may i just ask another question, how would you deal with tunneling nuclear biters without relying on rebuilding bots lol? because rn i'm not sure what is the best way to stop those diggers blowing up my defenses. maybe biters stop pop up on mines?

Mines are extremely effective against underground attack. 2-3 mines will kill everyone who unburrows (except for a few factions)
Another thing is that if the attack decides not to digout, then the mines will be destroyed by cloud damage. By the way, I don't like it. I think I'll make mines immune to the cloud damage.

For now, mines should be placed carefully, no further than 15-18 tiles from the turrets

Perhaps I will make the mines to deal damage the attack underground...

In the next 2 of weeks, updates should not be expected due to the large amount of work in "real life"

nice ideas! i support the idea to force unburrowing on mines as it's done for turrets because it makes more sense to me personally and would finally make mines useful to many people including myself (i've never found a reason to use mines before rampant). i would implement it this way.

but i don't mind cloud damage destroying mines, otherwise why would cloud chemicals damage walls, boxes, other "non electronic" structures, etc - i think to exclude cloud to mine damage on logic of realism then it's too far considering the rest of the game realism level.
