g Enemies spawn without Pollution?

(updated 5 years ago)

I assume this is a part of what this mod does, but I can't find a way to disable it.
I like the changes to the pathfinding, but I don't like the fact that they can spawn without requiring pollution. Isn't that the entire point of Efficiency Modules? To lower pollution to reduce biter attacks. I'd like an option to disable this feature.

I created a small (14-second long) video showcasing what I mean: https://youtu.be/WqzMqNkap70 - I'd like to disable that
If this is not this mod's doing however, don't mind me :s

does it still do that even if you don't have Rampant installed?

Yes, it does actually. Must have been something I've missed my 1k hrs playing Factorio.
Spawners seem to pump out monsters regardless of Pollution as long as I'm near them.. never realized this

I can take a look.

Not that I'm aware of for the "Disable Pollution Requirement"

I edited my post, sry.
I must have derped.

I'll stop editing posts. Ruins conversations >_>

I do not fully understand how the spawning with Rampant works though. There seems to be a significant increase in spawning, even though my Pollution bubble doesn't come anywhere near any spawners. I assume this is intended, but I'd like some clarification on how exactly they work.

With vanilla enemies, I don't make any changes to how the biters spawn.

With my new enemies, I randomize the number of units per spawner and the time to spawn.

I think I'm getting a nearly 100x increase in enemies with Rampant, Rampant Arsenal, and Natural Evolution installed vs Vanilla. I'm under non-stop attack by massive swarms on all sides. I went from needing one ammo train that spent most of its time idle to two running non-stop and I'm still having problems keeping remote outposts supplied.

It's a hectic blast but I feel like there's a bug in the spawn logic.

Are you playing with the Rampant new enemies on?

I do not have rampant enemies turned on. I have NE enemies instead.
The attacks come in three sizes, scouting party, raiding party, and onslaught.

Here are three standard raiding party attacks. They are happening simultaneously on three different fronts. I have an evolution factor of .92

Here's the aftermath of a single mega attack on a new expansion. There was about 15 minutes of pure rage. The number of corpses speak for themselves. These waves can be truly enormous. They can be ~20 cells wide and longer than a radar radius. Sometimes the mega waves will de-spawn right before they reach the front line.
