Improves the enemies tactics by using potential fields (pheromones) allowing probing of defenses, retreats, reinforcements, counterattacking, breaching, raids, rallying death cry, and player hunting. Uses blockable biter projectiles. Adds new Enemies which can be disabled in mod settings. Difficulty setting in mod options menu.

With NE mod and small artifacts disabled (and no Bob's enemies) artifacts are not created.

what version of NE are you running? I only see one option in the menu of NEE and it is "Alien Artifacts from Enemies".

It is the latest NE. "Alien Artifacts from Enemies" is disabled, so small artifacts (small-alien-artifact) are not dropped from them, but destroyed buildings still drop big artifacts (alien-artifact) necessary in many recipes. Instead of checking NE_Alien_Artifacts in makeSpawnerAlienLootTable, you need to check whether NE mod is present at all.
