"They mostly come at night. Mostly." -- Biters in polluted areas become more aggressive at night. Includes an option to have biters only attack at night.
I just added a performance friendly version of Nightfall's night only attack mode to Diurnal Dynamics. It doesn't currently change any other behaviour but it might scratch that itch.
