i The Earlygame Research Costs are insane

(updated a day ago)

so, after hundreds of expoded power poles and 10 hours of gameplay i can say that the 10MW limitation on small poles is insane. yeah i get that i can make multiple networks but man, that's a PAIN.

and combine that fact with that you have to make a really big factory (considering that green science is still kinda earlygame) to make 2400 of both red and green science JUST for better power poles.

i know that shi could be just a skill issue and all that but i really find it annoying that all my power poles are constantly expolding or that my base is running low on power. Im no game developer so i dont know if it would be better to lower the price of research, or up the throughput of power poles a tad bit, maybe like to 15MW.

i know that it's propably intended that way, but it's a thing that really annoys me and now i have to leave the game running for and hour and a half just to get better power poles.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't tested it past red science yet so yeah that part is probably just annoying because it's not balanced right yet.

I'll increase the small power poles to like 20MW. The reason I added that mod Power Overload is so you have to generate power at outposts and also mix big poles with smaller poles, not making you have like 3 sets of steam engines at the start of the game, so I think their max should be enough to get 1 network doing around 1/s of both sciences so you can get the tech for steel poles

make 2400 of both red and green science JUST for better power poles

You're probably playing on a map that was created with the last version's preset that had a 10x tech multiplier for everything. In the new version it's 240 science for that so should only be like 5 minutes of production. New version uses a multiplier that depends on how advanced the tech is, so it's 1x for red science, 2x for green, increasing to 20x at cryogenic science. So the 2400 is probably because you have BOTH the 10x and the 2x multiplier stacked. Sorry about that.
