This report is related to an interaction with this mod: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/factory-palette. I'll be filing an issue in both places and linking back to one another, since I don't really know which mod is responsible for fixing the problem.

When using Factory Palette, there seems to be a weird interaction with Zooming Reinvented where, after you hit "Enter" begin navigating the results with your arrow keys in the search palette, the zoom level seems to get "reset" to some default value. This does not happen when Zooming Reinvented is turned off - see the recordings below:

The behavior I want is what happens when Zooming Reinvented is turned off - resetting the zoom level is really not ideal (and kind of frustrating). I don't want to disable either mod, because they're both very useful.

Any chance this could be fixed?

Turns out this is because this mod uses Up/Down as keybindings for the quick zoom in/out. Changing those keybindings resolved it for me.

yes, you have to be able to use the mods correctly
and key bindings are subject to user control ;-)

Due to API limitation, it is unfortunately not possible to recognize whether the user is currently using a UI. There is no “focus” in that sense.
