It seems to slowly get worse, but not consistent. I have no idea why though.

How big of a base do you have on Fulgora?
(Or maybe a better question to ask is, how much of Fulgora have you charted?)

The mod does some stuff with lightning that I might have to optimize.

Nothing drastic in both cases, but I have 'finished' the planet. I didn't really go exploring much, and I only settled on one large island with a train to a scrap island.

Let me know if there's any diagnostics or similar that would help.

What other mods are you using?

If you don't mind sending me your save, that would help a lot. You could also send it on Discord if you'd prefer.

One other thing you could try if you're comfortable poking around inside the mod a bit is renaming control.lua to something like control.unused and starting up Factorio that way. This will break all the special lightning stuff but if the performance problems go away then we've found the problem.

Same here. Love the mod but had to remove it a day after starting my second planet (Fulgora ) because my UPS was constantly dropping to 30
