IPL - Inter Platform Logistics

by SirPuck

Use IPL Antennas on your Space Platforms to allow them to exchange items when at the same space location, using cargo pods. Transfer items automatically, using circuits and antennas, directly between space platforms without having to send your items to the ground ! Now has a "Hard" mode ! For balance. Optional. g Items stuck in transit

When pods are sent between platforms, they do not arrive, instead they are stuck above the sending platform. They do not seem to be removed by the "/ipl-reset-podbuffer" command, though that allows the platform to send more pods that also get stuck. Everything about when a pod is being sent matches the mod documentation. The receiving platform has a request antenna with a signal of 1000 space platform foundation and a threshold of 50 of the same. The provider on the other platform has a signal of 50 foundation. The mods are only the dependencies for SpaceBlock plus recipe book (full mod list bellow).

Forgot to set category as bug. Oops.

Hello. Can you visually see the pods "stuck" above the sending platform ?
Does the receiver have cargo bays ? If not, can you try place a cargo bay on the receiver and check if that unlocks the situation ?

I can indeed see the pods stuck, though they are all in the same place so I can't see how many there are.
I tried giving it cargo bays through editor mode and it is indeed receiving all of them now. This is still a problem though, since there is no way to send it a cargo bay in SpaceBlock. I assume it is supposed to be able to receive through the hub?

Don't worry, I had an idea of what the problem could be when I read your message and just wanted you to confirm by doing this experiment (which you did).
This is fixed in the latest release, available now.

Thank you for the incredibly quick response and fix. I tested and it received all of the waiting pods as well.

I see the same thing but eventually those pods do arrive. It looks to me IPL sends pods too fast with tiny content and the destination platform can't land that many pods so they queue up. Is that the same problem?

IPL should not send more pods than incoming hatches. Was that the fix?

Hello Mrvn.
What you describe is intended behavior. It is on you to build enough hatches to prevent this and/or use the threshold system.
Ipl really has no reliable nor performant way to evaluate how many hatches will be available when the pods will arrive, so it relies on the engine to queue the pods.
Using thresholds should help you solve this issue.

As for the thread, it was about a bug not related to what you describe.
