Amazing idea by the way! I'm having fun with this mod! I'm wondering if there should be some sort of cost to send these pods between platforms. It seems a bit cheaty to have an infinite way of transferring items. (I mean you physically send a pod between them..). Maybe you could add an optional building and setting that requires pods to be built. (1x Rocket Fuel / 1x Blue Circuit / 1x LDS).

This was considered, and would be theoretically possible, but it would add another performance tax to the the mod (detecting if there are the materials etc...).
Moreover, when your platform send pods to the ground, in vanilla, it costs you nothing.
But i'd like to find an appropriate solution to optionally make it cost something. But if i were to do that, we would have to make the pods sent to the planet cost something too, innit ? 🙂

You know the cost to send stuff to the ground seems reasonable too. The whole point of my idea is to add a bit of challenge. So if there were a special 'Drop Pod Assembler' building that required parts to send to the ground too, that would make sense in my mind! Clearly you've thought more about this then I have. haha
