Turrets are built using salvaged self-learning AI tech from your ship allowing them to get deadlier with practice. Extends turrets via ranking system based on kills. Turrets are generated and are not limited to vanilla turrets, identifiable by overlaid rank insignia. Rank buffs individual turrets.

g [Fixed] railgun turrets can't hit

Railgun turrets range seems to be longer than the projectiles range. The turrets will constantly shoot at asteroids within its range but the projectiles will not hit I'm guessing that the projectile has a maximum range apart from the turret itself. I noticed this when the range was over 60 or so as it stands there is not really any benefit to having the rank increase the range on railgun turrets they just end up wasting a ton of ammo.

That does sound like an issue. I shall work to fix this.. I did notice that with the laser turrets from the Rampant Fixed mod but didn't catch the issue with Railguns.

The ammo is indeed the culprit. In order to also support modded ammo, I made the decision to exclude the railgun turret from having it's range modified.

Good to hear it was able to be fixed. It was pretty brutal having the turret shoot 10 times without even hitting anything.
