Allows the player to make a specific generic chest that can be turned into any logistic chest within a group. With no compatible mods, this means a generic logistic chest can be changed into any of the normal logistic chests.
Terminology
- Generic Chest - The "Generic Logistic Chest" (and variants with other mods) that players have as an item
- Generic Replacement Chest - The above chest after it has been changed into another logistic chest type
- Logistic Chest - A vanilla (or other mod) logistic chest
Features
- Placing 1 or more Generic Chests will open a UI to select which Generic Replacement Chest they will change into
- While a Generic Chest is in the player's cursor, they can scroll between Generic Replacement Chests (default ALT + Mouse wheel up/down)
- Blueprints are fully supported
- Any chest can be copy/pasted onto a Generic or Generic Replacement Chest to change it
- Uses the Copy/Paste Entity Settings controls
- Fast replacing a Generic Chest on a Logistic Chest will replace it with the corresponding Generic Replacement Chest

Upcoming Features
- Circuit network support (https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=90515 puts a slight wrench in this for now, as they will do not fully work with blueprints until Factorio 1.1)
