Thank you for taking to the time to post, much appreciated.
You have a good point, and I am not sure yet what I will end up doing about it, but I guess this will be a part.
The mod is intended for folks that like to build factories as they go along, not mega factories stamped down, city blocks at a time.
If one does not care for the laying of tiles, nothing here for them.
However, if one enjoys building factories with aesthetics in mind, the layered tile look can be appealing, if maybe a bit drab with vanilla only tiles.
What the mod does, is it places tiles under most entities as they are placed. The tiles placed, are of the type selected with the Foundations button.
So if you want to run down a line, placing assembling machines or belts, select the tile and have at it. No need to stop, switch from entity to tile, stamp down the tiles, then place building... can't do that while running, but you can with this mod. Also works with your personal logistics bots to place tiles as blueprints are placed.
Do you use Picker Dollies to make adjustments as you design? If you have tiles under them for that layered appearance, and want to move the entity, you have place the new tile(s), move the entity, then pickup the tile(s) from the old position and replace it. With this mod, move the entity, the tiles move with it.
It has tools to place tiles instantly... especially helpful for placing tiles after it is in production! With this mod, a couple of mouse clicks, boom done.
It offers more for settings and tiles but that is all in the description, I hope this helps.
