I finished Space Age game two times (the second one is just to get speedrun achievements) and wanted to start a marathon playthrough, but two things were stopping me:
- Interplanetary logistics. I don't like the way it is implemented too, for me it is so unfun I just have to force myself to set up another route or make upgrades to existing ships (there is no fun in launching quality components manually).
- Crafting limitations. For the reason above, I don't want to scale up on 5 different planets, but you don't have any choice here. You can't just setup mining outposts on some of the planets and build a mega-factory on your planet of choice (or in space).
So I was looking for the solution and thanks to some negative Space Age review on Steam, found your mod that fits just perfectly. Started a 1000x science cost playthrought with default resources (but very slow evolution), and having a lot of fun with it so far:
- You need to explore again, to acquire resources.
- Trains are back! I had just one in Space Age, on Fulgora.
- Heating towers have some use now (to reduce coal consumption and pollution), because nuclear energy is not so easily available.
- "Infinite" resources, i.e. lava, are not that cheaty for this type of the game, but they are not readily available either. On my map, I don't even have small worms, so doubt it will be possible to get to lava without uranium ammo technology. That's Ok.
- There is still a late-late-game goal (reaching shuttered planet) that justifies building big and using quality mechanics (you don't need quality to beat Space Age), so thanks for leaving some amount of space in the mod.
