If you would like, and the mod author hasn't responded in a couple of days, I'll fork his repository, adjust the name slightly, add a new commit with the current version from the mod.zip and apply your patch. It's MIT licensed, so that should be OK. I'll make sure the mod description references the old one.

If you would rather do all that, that's fine too.

I am using https://mods.factorio.com/mod/GhostScanner now. It is an improved fork of this mod.

Yeah... sigh I'm not fond of using Optera's mods. I don't like the way (s)he licenses them, and I don't like h(is/er) attitude when it comes to feature requests or bug reports. At least that one is MIT licensed.

At least one though I think is a really good mod and has no reasonable equivalent, and that's the RTG mod.
