Frost Biters


Adds a nest of Frost Aliens and Worms! These aliens will cause frost damage, and may launch a frost cloud over your factory. Defeated aliens will drop artifacts that can be further processed into weapons and armors (optional). With Alien-biomes, nests will only spawn in cold areas.

i Toggle for new world generation on Aquilo

Could you please make a toggle for the new generation in Aquilo? I like these new enemies but not at the cost of deleting part of the challenge of Aquilo. Thanks for making this mod

I had to dig through my mods to figure out this was what was ruining Aquilo. I have frost biters on Lemures as part of Dea Dia, so completely reworking Aquilo generation is entirely unnecessary for my playthrough. Currently reloading a save and force generating without frost biters enabled to hopefully fix it...

I'm in the same situation as bubbletanks, Dea Dia installed this, I was wondering what happened to Aquilo.

Not the mod makers fault of course, it's a very interesting mod.

but if this is going to be included as parts of other mods, a toggle to keep aquilo as vanilla would be nice :)

Just a quick followup on what I said for Enizer, my solution did in fact work. Just make sure to fly around and generate enough chunks for your plans before turning it back on because new chunks will revert to this generation.

by ruining aquilo you mean the land generation without large oceans but with more land ?
there is a mod option here where you change where biters appear... if you let nauvis only, there is no change in aquilo... these are land enemies, so if you want then in aquilo they need some land, or there is no point for they to appear there. Just set the option to nauvis only.. modders can force set this mod option to a desired value.

it does sound like the problem is how Dea Dia is using this mod, notably if I have Dea Dia installed, and set this mod to nauvis only, the game just crashes.
I think I'll let Dea Dia cook a little more before trying to use that one.

I wrote to the Dea Dia Dev about this issue and they say they have made all the compat-stuff they can from their side (spc. the ''Lemures only'' in the options)
''That is an issue from cold biters, and my side includes all the fixes that I can put in for that. :/

To me, it seems the root of this issue is that the Aquilo overhaul from this mod, isnt disabled when choosing the Lemures only options added by Dea Dia, so my guess is to add something that checks if that option is toggled to disable aquilo's changes
My only current option is to disable Dea Dia and manually generate a huge chunk of aquilo in editor mode, then re-enable Dea Dia and hope i wont need more.

Perhaps the land generation could change to shallow ammonia sea (I'm thinking of the cerys shallows)? Perhaps with some islands for their bases.

That way biters should be able to cross it, but would still keeps the aquilo challenge intact, as you still ned to make iceplatforms there first?
