Adds 2 new tiers of cars, with associated research and recipes, that go much faster than the vanilla car. To compensate, they have wider turning circles (assists with controllability at high speeds) and have no weapons. They are also immune to tree impacts, as that quickly gets annoying. The idea is to incentivize the creation of roadways to allow really fast transportation as well as make exploration easier.

In addition to the above, two new controls have been added:

  • Low Speed Mode (toggle with H by default): The higher tier cars have a high speed mode (normal, use for exploration/driving long distances) and a low speed mode (much slower, use for driving around base) to help avoid crashing into things and blowing them up when the vehicles have such a high base acceleration.
  • E-brake (toggle with J by default): The higher tier cars also have an E-brake built in that lets you stop extremely quickly, even from max speed (roughly a second). This does quintuple fuel usage to compensate.

Car MK2:
- Slightly more than 2x fuel usage of normal car.
- Max speed on Refined Concrete: 255.6 km/h (nuclear fuel)
- Max speed on Asphalt: 323.4 km/h (nuclear fuel)

Car MK3:
- Doesn't require fuel! You may need to get in the car for the "no fuel" warning to stop when you first place it down.
- Max speed on Refined Concrete: 310.0 km/h!
- Max speed on Asphalt: 392.4 km/h!

While not mandatory, the following mods are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, as they work really well with the cars I add here.

  • Pavement Drive Assist: Auto-adjusts the car to keep itself on the roadway, and more. This makes driving on roadways really, really easy, which means you can go full throttle across your entire base. You may want to stick to 45 degree turns on your roadways due to the increased turning radius for the higher tier cars.
  • Asphalt Roads: Adds new road tiles that make cars travel much faster. The speeds of the cars on asphalt are given above.

Please comment in the discussion section if you would like any of the following:

  • More storage on higher tier cars
  • Turbo boost mode to make cars go even faster
  • Config options for how much low speed/E-brake slow you down
