How do I delete a built canal? If I use landfill, then I get the landfill texture there. If I delete the landfill texture I again see the canal. How to undo the canal building so that the grass looks like before and the same game has no entries for this space?

That isn’t possible, due to how the game works. I guess you could do it manually with editor mode or Landfill Painting mod.
