Blueprint Character Settings
I like starting fresh in Factorio, but I hate having to set up my quickbar icons every time. And when I reached logistics robotics, I’d stall out because I didn’t want to rebuild my logistics groups from scratch yet again.
It's something I always find so tedious in a game about optimization and refining workflows.
I searched online and found others with the same problem and no solution in sight from Wube.
So I built this mod, mainly for myself, and I’m sharing it in case it helps someone else too :)
What it does:
Creates blueprints from your quickbar layout or personal logistics requests, save the blueprints in "My blueprints" and then you can load them in any save. No more manually rebuilding your quickbar or personal logistics.
The mod adds four shortcut buttons:
Create Blueprint from logistics requests — Saves your personal logistics configuration
Load logistics requests from Blueprint — Applies your logistics setup from a blueprint (Careful, it clears your current logistics, so make sure to save first.)
Create Blueprint from quickbar settings — Saves your current quickbar layout
Load quickbar settings from Blueprint — Restores your quickbar from a blueprint
Features:
Configurable setting to only enable personal logistics loading after logistics research is available (default = research required):
It's not really "cheaty" to add logistics requests before the research, but it kinda feels like it's "unintended". So I added the option.
Option to clear quickbar before loading or merge with existing slots (default = clear):
Merge = overwrite anything in the same slot as the saved quickbar settings, But leave anything untouched if not. You can use it to save rows (or sections), like: Yellow_Belts (row 1 - slots 1-3), Red_Belts (row 1 - slots 1-3), etc.
Supports Factorio 2.0 quality system
Stores Logistics and quickbar slots in a comparator so you can place it and edit as you normally would a comparator.
Save your setup once, load it anywhere. Perfect for players like me who restart often or like to swap out certain sections of their quickbar. You can even share configurations by copying/pasting Blueprint strings.
