I like the idea that cooling Flouroketon requires ice. Ever since Space Age was released, I’ve had the idea that cooling Flouroketone generates heat. Would it be possible to add a heat pipe to the process? Your mod requires cracking crude oil into light oil to produce FK. It seems thermodynamically correct to me that FK would release heat back into the system after use. Even though the refinery doesn’t need a direct heat supply, it must be heated to prevent it from freezing. So cooling FK will create heat back.

However, I’m not convinced, either in terms of balance or feasibility.

Realistically speaking, heat exchange processes always involve some loss. And as far as balance is concerned, the aim of this change is to make the game more complex; introducing a new ‘free’ source of heat doesn’t seem desirable to me.

In fact, this would mean that adding ice results in heat output, which is odd, especially as the temperature of hot fluoroketone is 180°C; there is no logical reason why it should allow heating beyond that.

And in terms of feasibility, a heat pipe connector would need to be added to the cryogenic plant, which is also rather weird. And that’s probably beyond my coding skills.
