I like this, its small and nice and don't feels cheaty, just a little honing :-)

How about a sort of backpack for the equiment grid or attachment points?
Thinking along a small adding of a 2x2 backpack with a 2x4 equimentgrid or a 1x1 attachment point with 1x3 grid ?
It should not be able to be recursive and also not allow the bigger things like legs into it?
So at least one could place a battery or solarcells into

As for backpacks I am not sure that is possible. I am also all but done with modding unfortunately. I will try to keep this mod updated though hopefully there aren't any issues for a long while.
