Arcanyx

by S6X

Arcanyx is a planet designed around the mechanics of Voidcraft and Iridescent Industry: making things out of prismite, or just conjuring them from nothingness.

g Void Ocean

Hi, on Arcanyx you can use the Void Ocean to dump products back into the ocean to void them, but without that to me Voidcraft has too many products to deal with reasonably. Now I know it's due to mod conflicts (One of the planet mods adds recycling stone into stone dust which is rather frustrating) but recycling the excess is a pain compared to just dumping them into the ocean.

So I was wondering if you'd consider adding a Void-fill item that would place Void Ocean allowing for easier voiding of excess byproducts, even if it's just a mod setting would be nice?

I'd rather not add placeable void ocean, for game balance and also aesthetic reasons.

If the problem is that you have too much stone, there is a lot you can do with stone on Arcanyx: you can turn it into landfill (Arcanyx has much more ocean than Nauvis) or, if you have centrifuges, you can turn it into prismite or voidstone.

Which mod adds stone dust?

Oh ok, I figured that'd be the answer, but no harm in asking right?

I'm not sure I'll have to look tonight after work. I think it's one of the newer ones, but it's frustrating. Once I get to the planet I'm sure there will be a reason for it, but until then it's making excess stone a pain to deal with lol. It's my own fault for adding all the fulling developed planets in one run.

Once I know what mod it comes from I'll let you know.

I looked for it, and it's Stone Dust from Arboria.

Thanks for the information. The reason that you are having an issue is because Arboria creates a recipe to make stone from stone dust but doesn't set auto_recycle = false so it ends up being used as the recycling recipe. This is probably a bug, but unfortunately, Arboria seems abandoned so it is unlikely to be fixed.

Oh ok, I'll see if I can make a patch using that information. I've had to make a few custom changes so far to make the mods all play nice together, but I don't know much about modding factorio so it's been a lot of trial and error lol. Thankfully I do know lua decently so I should be able to figure it out now that I know what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the help that should help out a lot, it'll be nice to be able to play Arcanyx more as intended.

-Edit: Ok I did get it to work, but that was a pain lol. Apparently you have to jump through hoops to get the Quality mod to recognize the change, so it's way easier for the original author to fix it then it is to make a patch later (thinking back I probably should have just edited Arboria, but then I wouldn't have learned anything).

Thanks for the help with this.
