Ⴚypsy Playtimer

What it does

Simply adds a GUI with the total game time displayed. Game time, as measured by the in-game ticks, not the clock on the computer.

Where it comes from

Forked from Playtime+ by Mazmot, being an improved version of [Playtime] (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/playtime) by thuejk.

Why it is here

Mazmot's version will work in Factorio 2.1 with a simple change in the info.json file.

I've been waiting for an update, and a fix for my reported bug.

There's been no sign of Mazmot for 19 months and Playtime+ is their only mod. Players get tired of Factorio and move on, so a mod can become an orphan. I think Playtime+ is such a mod.

Other than fixing a bug which has been bugging me it's pretty much the same as Playtime+. All credit and fame for the project belongs to them.

Mazmot claims some improvements over the original. I only claim to like this version over thuejk's because I like the dark theme, it is more WUBE styled, and I really don't like GUIs stacking up in the top left corner of the screen.

The images above are of the GUI:
- In the 'traditional' top left corner
- In an ever so slightly better, non-blocking position
- In a random spot on the screen - the part that make Mazmot's version better than thuejk's
- In my random spot, where I like having it displayed

Issues

I don't play in multiplayer so there is no way for me to test this in that environment. I don't think there will be an issue because of the way I dealt with adding the mod to an existing game. Still, if there is, the Discussion tab here or the Discord below are available.

A comment in the Discussion tab of Playtime+ asked about scale of the clock. As implemented that is not practical. The clock uses the game's built in font and scaling, so what ever scale is set for the GUI in the game will apply to this timer's display as well.
