I understand why they were redesigned to their current form.
But I was a little disappointed to learn that there’s no way to revert them to their original state without using power, as in the original BBB.

So I’d like to suggest adding a corresponding toggle in the settings that would allow nuclear drones to operate without power.

Additionally:
It would be nice to have something similar for Roboport recipes, just like in the original mod.
That is, the ability to convert Roboport from the vanilla version to BBB and vice versa.

Sorry for the late response, as for why they consume power, I have yet to figure out how to remove the power requirements, though I may have idea how. As for converting vice versa with vanilla, it's intentional and will not be adding anything to convert between vanilla and my mod.
