How about adding a setting (and tech) to make the configurable amount needed for an upcycle process to reduce?
Like 10 stages of tech - each one gets more pricey - to reduce the amount needed?
currently not planned (balancing is hard for me, albeit recipes or tech costs/requirements), for now players will just have to edit the config value when they deserve they've earned better rates (e.g. made a working setup on a planet)
