Not sure why the timer is the only option here cos If I'm working under an elevated rails I want all the time in the world to be done with it. Would've been great to have an option to use the drag tool to permanently apply the effect and then revert back with a different click-drag.
This functionality is already implemented. The mod supports runtime settings for the time-out, both for hovering and selection tool. When setting to 0 the time-out is disabled and transparent rails won't revert. Currently click+drag converts to transparent and shift+click+drag reverts to normal.
