StackWise Circuits
Short Summary
A performance-optimized stack-size combinator with smarter circuit processing, train wagon calculations, bilingual support, and legacy save migration.
Overview
StackWise Circuits is a performance-focused fork of Stack Combinator (Redux), designed for large-scale factories, advanced circuit networks, and complex train logistics systems.
It allows circuit signals to be processed using actual item stack sizes, making it easier to calculate inventory capacity, train loading requirements, and logistics thresholds.
Features
- Six calculation modes: Multiply, divide with configurable rounding, and round values to full stacks.
- Optimized performance: Improved tick scheduling, input-change detection, and redundant output-write elimination.
- Red and green wire control: Process networks independently or merge their signals before calculation.
- Train wagon support: Calculate quantities using cargo wagon and fluid wagon capacities.
- Flexible signal handling: Pass through, invert, or discard non-item signals.
- Multilingual interface: English and Simplified Chinese.
- Existing save migration: Designed to preserve original combinator entities and configurations when migrating from Stack Combinator (Redux).
Performance
StackWise Circuits is designed to reduce unnecessary Lua processing, particularly in large factories with many combinators receiving unchanged circuit signals.
Actual UPS improvements depend on factory size, circuit activity, and update settings.
Compatibility
- Factorio 2.1.18+
- Designed for migration from Stack Combinator (Redux)
- Supports existing circuit-network workflows and train logistics designs
Important: Back up existing saves before migration. Disable the original mod when enabling StackWise Circuits. Migration has undergone simulated testing, but full in-game compatibility verification is still pending.
