i Escape velocity?

(updated 5 months ago)

Wouldn't it make more sense to have some kind of escape velocity for each planet?

Like you'd need to reach some specific speed in orbit before you automatically start the journey to another planet. You'd probably need to utilize circuit logic a lot to automate it which would also be more realistic cause y'know... we don't do these calculations by hand irl. Understandably for people who want a relatively easier time / for a first playthrough it could be a setting so everyone can enjoy this mod

Would need some kind of either a reversed thruster or just a the regular thruster just backwards to, well... make thrust backwards but I've seen a thread abt this already so I'm not gonna go further into that

Any of this would definitely be very difficult to implement but would make the mod a lot more realistic which seems to be the point of it.

Regardless, I'm surprised that this mod isn't more popular considering it solves the issue that many people have with space age (distance of planets)
I haven't even figured out how to leave Nauvis orbit safely yet but I already know that I'm never starting another space age playthrough without this mod ever again.

Great mod, looking forward to any updates

Oh my sorry for such a old reply (4 MONTHS!! I thought I replied to it, my bad)

I have ideas for how to implement that, but I'm currently tied up on that. Its due to how speed are handled in the mod. Escape velocities are just too small compared to the speed even a basic ship achieves in the mod right now. I could do that but I'm trying to figure out an idea. (Any thoughts?)

Reverse thrusters will be in the mod in a bit, implementation features are all tested and reverse thrusters (to a limited extent) is in the works!

Thank you and I'm deeply sorry for the late reply.
Hope you continue to enjoy this mod more!
