Uses solar energy to heat air, which rises and turns a turbine See mod page for more details.

Who did the texture work on this anyway? I'd just like to say that from what I googled, the central tower on this seems too large, most of them seem rather slim and tall with flat solar arrays all around in a circle.

One thing I'd like to suggest, is a way to rotate this tower so I can place it length wise rather than wide.

Also, perhaps add some solar plating to the center structure, these would be on the pillar its self to generate just a bit more juice. I like the balance in this though, I did the math on your balance with it.

I was reading on other power methods related to his though, and saw one called an Energy Tower (downdraft), that cools air instead and causes it to fall down a tunnel to turn turbines. It mentioned even an efficiency of up to 1MW on sunny days, but 50% of its power production goes into maintaining its self. This particular device does not use solar energy to power it either.

If you like the above, you can make it an early game research thing that doesn't require solar or any high end stuff to make, while also adding a version of it after solar that uses solar plating and such on the sides, to reduce some of the operating cost of it to produce more power in the same amount of space. Basically allowing you to upgrade one with solar plating to produce more power.

There are other ideas out there too, if you wish to add more power generation methods to the game. I'll link a few;

.. Well, the link I was about to give didn't pan out, didn't have proper research done on it.

So yea, just some ideas there for more passive power generation methods.
