Locomotives Slow Down

Scales the max speed of every locomotive prototype (vanilla and modded) by a configurable startup multiplier. Max is set to 1, the purpose is to slow them down to make it more realistic. Cargo trains going hunderts of kp/h is not my cup of tea.

Changelog

Version: 0.2.2
Date: 2026-10-14
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed the acceleration multiplier reducing locomotive power by roughly
another factor of 60 beyond what was intended (util.parse_energy()
      returns joules-per-tick for a "...W" value, so re-appending "W" caused
the loader to divide by 60 a second time). The scaled value is now
written back with a "J" suffix instead, which round-trips correctly.
    - Fixed scaling the non-existent "reversing_power" field; the correct
field is "reversing_power_modifier" (a plain multiplier), which is now
      scaled correctly instead.
Version: 0.2.1
Date: 2026-10-14
  Graphics:
    - Added a thumbnail.png (144x144) for the mod portal and in-game mod manager.
Version: 0.2.0
Date: 2026-10-14
  Features:
    - Added a "Locomotive acceleration multiplier" startup setting (default 0.5,
      range 0.1-1), scaling each locomotive's max_power and reversing_power so
acceleration can be slowed down independently of top speed.
  Bugfixes:
    - Fixed a typo in the mod description ("kp/h" to "km/h").
Version: 0.1.0
Date: 2026-10-14
  Info:
    - Initial release.
  Features:
    - Added a "Locomotive speed multiplier" startup setting (default 0.5, range
0.1-1) that scales max_speed for every locomotive prototype, vanilla and
      modded, via data-final-fixes.
    - Added an "Also scale wagon speed" startup setting (default on) to apply
the same multiplier to cargo, fluid and artillery wagons.
