Would you mind if I uploaded a tweaked version of this mod which is rebalanced for very long trains (relative to engine length), like what I use? There are no good options for players like me--all the train slowing mods turn long trains into completely immovable dead weights unless you have like a 3 or 4 to 1 ratio of wagons to engines. However, I played with the values in your mod and found some settings that result in what feels to me to be a good feel for trains with a ratio of more like 10 or 20 wagons per 1 engine (more like what real life trains do, which is how I always design my train systems). I'm sure I'm not the only player like me, so I figured I'd upload my version of the mod for them as well.
If you're curious, my changes are (edit: changed slightly from this original post, see the mod description) wagons get slightly more braking force but are otherwise unchanged, and engines now weigh 4x, have 2x braking force, 0.5x speed (slightly higher than yours), 4x the power of yours (don't know what vanilla values are), effectivity is the same, and friction is now almost zero for the engine (but still 0.1x for wagons). This results in a fairly snappy engine when it's by itself, but the length of the train now dramatically affects the mobility without bringing it to a complete standstill even at somewhat ridiculous lengths of 40+ wagons per engine--but you'd better plan for a lot of stopping distance at those lengths, just like real trains.
