Sentient Spiders


Kick that raw fish into overdrive and give spidertrons a little sentience, as a treat. Spidertrons automatically follow their last driver. Idle spidertrons wander around the factory. Stuck spidertrons try to find another path to their destination.

g No wandering when a player is inside

This is a cool mod and I love the following capability, but its quite annoying that the spidertron starts wandering while the player is still inside and just not moving.

Could you add a wandering condition that no player should be in the spidertron?

Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the mod :)
With version 0.0.2 I have added a condition so that if a player is in a spidertron it will not start wandering unless the player has been afk for longer than 5 minutes.

Hey, can we make that 5 min afk timer for all spiders? I'll send a spider somewhere and then it will decide to run off right after arriving. or is there a setting that can be added to change if and when it decides to wander? like a sentient switch on the spiders, or an afk sentient timer in the settings options menus?

Hey Shadowlands, it was a little tricky but I’ve added a condition so that spiders won’t start wandering if a player used their remote, or they reached a destination a player sent them to, within the last 5 minutes. This also now applies to when they’re first built, so they won’t immediately run off when you build them either :) But if they’re still for more than 5 mins with no player interaction they’ll still start looking for somewhere else to go. If you want to really make sure they stay still, you can have them follow something that isn’t moving (ctrl+click a train or other spidertron with the remote).
I’m hoping to publish the release today or tomorrow if everything goes well. Let me know if you have any feedback / suggestions :)
