Some time ago, a player by the nickname of Yummy-Kozak made a cool mod named Random Planet Teleporter. The premise is simple: every five minutes, you get teleported to a random Space Age planet, so you need to build your planetary factories kinda in parallel. On one hand, being able to teleport between the planets is a blessing since you can start playing with unique Space Age buildings and stuff way earlier and use your own inventory for shuttling logistics; on the other, when you are stuck on Aquilo on 37th time third warp in a row and cannot do anything yet because you haven't invented chemical plants yet, it could get boring. Unfortunately, Random Planet Teleporter only supports vanilla Space Age planets and does not work in multiplayer, and the author does not seem to be around; thus, I have created this mod.
What is new/different compared to that old mod:
- should work in multiplayer (I haven't tested it but the code should be able to handle it fine);
- should support planets other than vanilla Space Age ones (haven't tested it either but the code makes no distinction and tries to fix the progression in a universal way);
- allows customizing the length of each stay on a planet (default is 300 seconds or 5 minutes);
- includes an optional small tech tree that improves your warping abilities, starting with timer length increase and featuring such perks as seeing the next planet destination, an ability to warp before the timer goes to 0, an ability to define the point on each planet you will be warping to using a new building, and the endgame ability to warp anywhere at will;
- includes an option to warp into a random location when you teleport, which should increase the challenge significantly;
- adds a setting (on by default) to not select the same place as a destination twice, because that is just frustrating at times.
Bugs are certainly possible - please report any!
Thanks to Iwasonthelastbus for creating a great free planet generator in Blender that was used for one of the technology icons.
