I would like to see config options for:

No trees in the starting area
No resources under trees
All starting resources being very near each other

Really tired of having to hit 'Restart' over and over again...

Option to destroy trees above resources would be quite simple I think. Trying to find tree-less locations for resources won't work due to way that generation works.

Reducing range of starting resources might be a bit more tricky since it increases chance that they will fail to spawn due to overlaps.

For tree problems I would recommend Agent Orange mod - simple capsule that clears trees.

Personally, I'd prefer to see an option that guarantees the starting resources won't be very near each other, because it's annoying when you have Iron Ore and Copper Ore overlapping, etc.

And yes, I too highly recommend the Agent Orange mod. Trees are both a pain in the butt and a great help. A pain in the butt because they get in the way, and a great help because they absorb Pollution and thus the natives will attack later or in smaller numbers, compared to if the Trees had not been there.
