Recycler Rebalancing

by Gergely

Smaller or larger tweaks to recycling recipes with support for configuring through mod settings. Makes recipe times take into account the product count of item recipes, reducing the time to recycle concrete and various other items including iron sticks and transport belts. A more advanced balancing scheme is also applied by default. An option to remove the productivity limit from scrap recycling is provided.

This mod currently provides the following options:

  • Revert hazard concrete recycling to Factorio 2.0.
  • Modify hazard concrete recycling to return exactly one concrete item, effectively "unpainting" it.

  • Adjust recycling recipe times to account for multiple return recipes.
Currently the recycler mod of the expansion ignores product counts of recipes when determining the time recycling recipes should take, which is why concrete takes painfully long to recycle. It actually takes 10 times longer than it should. This option fixes that.

  • "Rebalance" recycling recipe times to account for ingredient voiding.
Substantially modifies recycling times to try and enforce the constraint that an item cannot be crafted then recycled faster than 3/4 of it's ingredients. This heavily nerfs item voiding loops. They are still technically viable as the mod ignores crafting speeds and productivity bonus of machines but you need to build a lot more recyclers to benefit from them. The goal is to incentivise investing in quality intermediates over just repeatedly recycling the final product.
  • Remove the productivity cap from scrap recycling.

The mod also adds a new tips and tricks entry detailing all changed times, as well as descriptions in the recycling recipes.
