LTN was a little too complex for my smooth brain, so I made RailWave. Both mods solve a similar problem, but RailWave focuses on simpler setup through a custom station interface and automatic dispatching based on supply and demand.
That said, LTN is currently far more mature, configurable, and optimized. It will likely perform much better in a very large megabase. RailWave should work well for small and medium-sized train networks, but it is still an early test version and has not yet been optimized for thousands of stations and trains.
