All modules are forced to be normal quality as of space exploration 0.7.36.

Earendel updated Space Exploration with hidden changes that add "module grease" as a prerequisite to all tier 1 modules and forces the quality of all modules when when inserted or picked up to become normal quality even if they were a higher quality. These changes are not in the change log for 0.7.36.

For players with an existing run: You can safely manually backdate your space exploration mod to 0.7.35 without consequence. Do not update your mods until this is fixed.

its not a bug, its intended and its a script in SE that also includes this mod.
I couldn't find a way to mod it other than simply making all modules automatically legendary.

you can comment out that script in your own files personally,, the bottom of SE\scripts\compatability\quality.lua line 175,176

acceptance..... this is not a bug.

you could make a mod that adds 18 new modules into the game and give them the same stats as quality, then make them cost 100 normal modules?
or download some other mod with god modules.

Space Exploration 0.7.37 shouldnt have this issue hopefully by the sounds of Quezler's post in their discord, the only issue is that they have no eta for when 0.7.37 is releasing

There will be an option added with the following:

"Modules with Quality in Module Slots" - Downgrade(Default), Void, Eject, Ignore

So once its released you can just go into options and click ignore then hopefully all works again, I find the whole thing stupid, short term fix what lorek said is your best bet

I have another issue .. lets ignore the fact that all legendary modules changed to normal quality .. because they can be crafted again .. it will take time , but it is possible and later compatibility with SE is worth it .. but my issue is that not only all the modules changed to normal quality, but I lost the option to recycle them, after enabling the new SE version and this mod 0.1.6 after and I load my save, I have message that my recipes for module recycling were removed .. and I don't know why

and based om the info the quality is not applied to the modules anymore to prevent creating items with quality which should not have any quality , like astronomic data cards or similar science products .. therefor all the modules were converted to normal .. so now the option are to update the mod and create way more expensive modules with higher quality bonus to them on normal quality, or wait for the new version of SE after Factorio 2.1 , where should be another changes.
