Unlock advanced mining, processing, and refining for the various ore types. Each resource has a completely unique chain with dozens of byproducts. The more effort used, the more you can extract.

There is no some resource generation at the start of the game, although the checkboxes are all enabled.
I noticed one peculiarity: the more trees are generated on the map, the less additional (non-basic) resources are generated.
