pY Cranes


This pY Cranes inserter mod is aimed at both saving UPS and providing 100% faithful to pyanodons overhaul balancing experience. Cranes' hand size, power draw, speed, recipes, unlock time, etc, are all set to be as if you were using 3 or 6 normal inserters in their place, offering absolutely no cheaty gameplay advantages.

Fixes all of the complaints I had with the original inserter cranes for pY mod. Good balance, nice graphics. 10/10 mod

If I had to complain, I'd lament the lack of a mechanical inserter variant (science multipliers suck) :)

The absence of mechanical cranes is intentional. Mechanical inserters have such low speed that throughput into small entities (like AMs that are 3x3) becomes a puzzle of its own and so a x6-crane would very much break that aspect, allowing to double that speed. That plus the fact that the mod's main purpose is to replace inserter lines at train stations to battle UPS issues (which players do not yet have at the very beginning of the game) lead to the decision to cut mechanical cranes along with long ones.

Sounds good to me.

Also, I love the mindset of mechanically invisible mods. That's where probably half of mine are designed, and I love seeing how other people solve similar issues while keeping it mechanically symmetrical (or close to it, darn rounding)
