P.U.M.P.

by Xcone

P.U.M.P. (Prevent Unwanted Manual Pump-placement) takes out the chore of making outposts. It's a selection tool with which you can select liquid resources (oil, sulfuric acid, etc.. ) and it then proceeds to plan the layout of pumpjacks and pipes for you.

Hi; I'll have a look.

I can load the save; but I haven't figured out which field I need to plan with P.U.M.P. to get the error. The screenshot suggests the couple of nodes just north of your base, right next to your train depot. But it does seem to want to crash for me.

It seems you were in a multiplayer session, too? I'm not sure if relevant, but was it you who used P.U.M.P. at the time, or someone else?

It's the spot under the rails, a single node. Thanks!

It is a multiplayer session; dedicated server. I was the only player at the time.

haha, ok! A single spot under a rails. I can reproduce it now. 👍

I don't think that would yield a sane result, though. 😅
It still shouldn't crash. Especially not when not a single pump could be planned due to obstructions (which, .. now that I type it, might actually be the source of the error).

I'll make changes to handle this more gracefully.

Thanks for reporting!

Yup, that was it. It crashed because it couldn't figure out where to plan power with zero pumps being placed (the only one selected being blocked by the rails).
I uploaded a new version (2.2.3) which has a little safeguard for it.

That was a funny edge case. Thanks ^^

I am kind of curious what you expected/hoped/assumed would happen. It was a bit of silly edge case for me; but perhaps you had different expectations. Would love to hear them; if any apply.

Honestly I'm just a goblin 😂

Maybe it was gonna place impossible ghosts. Maybe it was gonna deconstruct the rails. I would have been cool with the second. No worries glad I could help!
